COVID-19 Update – 5.21.20

Update May 21, 2020:

We, at WFC, miss all of our WFC families, students and staff incredibly! We are feeling some relief as we enter the phased approach of reopening New Jersey. We are still at the discretion of the state, but would like to give an update in regards to our WFC Summer Camp plans for 2020. As we have still not heard a final “OK” for summer camps opening, we are very hopeful and enthusiastically planning our reimagined summer camp, as we know things will need to look different this year.

Here are some of our current plans for ensuring that your child’s camp experience is safe, healthy and fun:

  • We are ready to run summer camp, pending the State of NJ’s reopening procedures and the school buildings’ access. We recommend that you register your child for camp as soon as possible to ensure your enrollment. If for any reason camps don’t run, you will receive a full refund. We encourage full week, 5-day per week enrollment to help ensure consistency in the small group sizes and staff, therefore helping to reduce the potential for the spread of the virus. Changes and cancellation can be made anytime during the summer camp season (previously June 1 deadline).
  • Our summer camps will operate under the CDC’s best practices for daily attendance health screenings for campers and staff, personal protective equipment, small group sizes, cleaning and disinfection procedures.
  • We are canceling all field trips for 2020 camp, with the exception of trips to a local pool on designated days each week.
  • Travel Camp weeks, which were comprised of trips each day, are therefore canceled. If we can hold those camp weeks at the schools, we will.
  • Camp tuition will remain the same, as we account for additional staff and CDC requirements.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to us! Student and staff safety is our #1 priority and we will continue to go above and beyond to support our community in the best way that we can. We want to hear from you with any suggestions you may have that would make you and your children feel most comfortable attending camp. We are confident that we can provide a comfortable environment where our children can get the much-needed interact that they deserve, in the safest way possible.

Update April 14, 2020:

We just wanted to take a moment to thank all of our families for all of the heartwarming and unbelievably kind responses we received from our last email update. We cannot put into words how much we appreciate your support and patience during these difficult times.

Our hearts are filled with so much gratitude for the families who have reached out asking for ways to help and offering different types of donations. Even during these trying times, it is amazing to see how we can all unite to help one another. For families who are looking to help or would like to make a donation towards our operating expenses, you can do so online through our donation page. All donations of $250 and over will receive an acknowledgement letter for tax purposes. If you have any questions or would like to discuss a non-monetary donation idea, please email all inquiries to [email protected].

We give our sincerest thanks to all of our families and please remember you are all in our thoughts during these times. We are looking forward to the day we can all reunite again. Please continue to stay safe and healthy.

Update April 9, 2020:

Please know that you are in all of our hearts during these strange times.  I keep trying to remind myself that we are making history right now. We are making some necessary adjustments to get through this and we know that we will see each other on the other side, healthy and happy.  It’s been a trying few weeks and we know you are struggling at home, the same as we are, with work challenges, home schooling, emotional turmoil and just getting through each day.

We wanted to notify you that we are currently crediting all invoices for the monthly tuition and fees for this month’s invoice. No monthly charges will be processed on April 20th, unless you had any drop-ins or lates fees from March.  We will continue to update you as more information becomes available to us.

We are taking this day by day and trying to determine how best to handle this situation. At this time, we are struggling as a small business and most of our staff have been laid off or furloughed. We are only working with essential personnel to be able to answer questions from our parents and staff, and process these sort of billing adjustments.  Please be patient with us and the challenges we are all facing as a small business and as a nation.

We thank you in advance for your understanding and look forward to seeing you all again soon.

Update March 23, 2020:

We want to thank you for your patience while we continually evaluate and respond to this current health crisis that is is impacting us all. There is still much discussion regarding the school closures and if additional requirements will be imposed to make up for lost time once we get past this crisis. We will re-evaluate the circumstances we are facing in April to determine if we need to make additional tuition adjustments, as we have prorated the monthly tuition amount due 3/20/20. We are trying to be sensitive and meet the needs of our families, understanding that they may be facing a loss of income, as well as balance our staff’s needs to be able to pay them for their lost income resulting from the school closures. At this time there are still many unknown variables that we are evaluating as to how to best address this evolving world crisis. We thank you in advance for you understanding regarding this matter and hope you will continue to be patient with us as we navigate this new territory. We plan on being there for you all as expected once schools re-open and resume the quality care you expect for your family.

Please note if trying to reach us that all of our staff are working remotely and no one is available to answer calls in our main office.  If you have questions or need anything, please email us at [email protected] and we will respond in a timely manner.  Thank you for being a part of our work-family and we have you all in our thoughts for continued health and wellness.  We will all be stronger for having endured these challenges and we are excited to see each other again. Thank you for being a vital part of our work-family!
