Aurora Pipeling, Founder & Chief Executive Director of The Work-Family Connection has been appointed NJ Afterschool Ambassador.  Aurora Pipeling was chosen for her leadership, expertise and commitment to the field of Afterschool, upon recommendations of School District Superintendents throughout the State of NJ and her peers in the Afterschool profession.

As NJ Ambassador, Aurora Pipeling brings her 25+ years of experience and education in the field of after school programs to a new NJSACC initiative to create a statewide network of after school professionals who volunteer their time to share valuable resources, ideas and provide training.

“Afterschool programs work hard every day to help children succeed in school and in life. I have represented this field for more than 20 years.  As Afterschool Ambassador, I will continue to share our successes and to help programs be even more effective,” says Aurora Pipeling.

NJSACC is NJ's Lead Agency to the NJ Afterschool Network. The Work-Family Connection is a non-profit, educational organization based in Hunterdon County. Since 1989, The Work-Family Connection has provided high quality before and after school programs, kindergarten wrap-around programs and summer day camps throughout the State of NJ.  This organization currently serves over 2000 children in more than 33 schools across the state.

“The field is changing rapidly as we learn more about how afterschool can improve the odds for children and families. We are looking to the Ambassadors to build local and countywide support for the kinds of high quality afterschool programs that make a real difference,” says Diane Genco, executive director of NJSACC.

Aurora Pipeling graduated from the Wellesley College School-Age Care Leadership Institute.  She earned her BA at Douglass College and Masters credits at the Wharton School, Columbia Graduate School of Business, and Cornell University.  Aurora served on her local Board of Education as Vice-President, and also served as Acting President of the HC Educational Services Commission.
