The Work-Family Connection, the nonprofit organization that provides quality after school programs in Clinton Township schools is pleased to announce the recipients of the college scholarship program for 2014. The recipients are Catherine Lenahan, Michael Nenna, Mason Spichiger and Claire Zakszewski. They are all high school students who attended WFC programs in the Clinton Township Schools. They will each receive a $2,000 scholarship from The Work-Family Connection.

WFC is proud to have served our community for 25 years. Here are some of the great reasons the students said WFC helped them to go to college.

“Seeing how memorable WFC and the authority figures were in my life, encourages me to choose a career in Occupational Therapy. I want to make relationships with people and watch them grow as individuals” – Catherine Lenahan

“…the lessons I learned in the Work-Family Connection not only helped me to socially and academically progress as a child, but are also applicable to my future college life. I will carry these lessons with me to college and hopefully beyond…” - Claire Zakszewski

“Everyone was so supportive at Work-Family and if I ever had a problem I knew someone would help me…We had a great sense of community within our little "family" and I know that tradition continued after I left… My experience with Work Family helped to set the base for my life and set expectations of the kind of people I want to be around…” Mason Spichiger

“I loved my time with Work Family. It was a great experience that I won’t forget. I met some wonderful people and they taught me some very important things in life. It really was like a family to me being there… The years of support are extremely important.” – Michael Nenna
