Frequently Asked Questions
I am worried about the trips…
WFC Summer Camp has been going on trips for a very long time and we know the places that we go to very well. Our staff to camper ratio is as low as 1 staff with up to 5 campers for water trips to a maximum of 1 staff to 10 campers for a non-water trip.
Our staff is experienced: we carry camper ID cards with emergency information, first aid kits, and cell phones. Staff are CPR and First Aid Certified
On trips, all children wear bright tye dye camper T-shirts for quick identification.
Our camp directors and coordinators are always on trips and watching the groups as an extra pair of hands.
How are the campers grouped on the trips?
Campers are grouped by age for most trips. This keeps campers with the same interests and abilities together so all things we participate in are age appropriate.
What type of transportation is used on the trips?
All of our campers ride in an air conditioned certified yellow school bus equipped with seatbelts. All buses are driven by experienced certified drivers who operate buses all year long. All staff ride on the buses with the campers and sit scattered throughout the bus for proper supervision.
My child does not swim well and I am worried about the pool…
A majority of Colony Pool is very shallow (3 ft or less). Our counselors are in the water with the campers at all times and lifeguards are on duty. Please relay your camper’s swimming ability to the Camp Director on the first day of camp.
Campers have the option to take the Deep Water test in order to swim in the deep sections.
What are your policies surrounding nut allergies?
We take allergies very seriously, please make sure you inform the camp directors of all allergies your child has. We are peanut AND tree nut free at Chatham Summer Camp. Products containing any nuts of any kind are permitted at camp.
If any other questions arise please do not hesitate to reach out!
